Welcoming Baby Bradley

Saturday afternoon I hosted a baby shower for my friend Becky, at The Snohomish Pie Company and it turned out so well. They have a room downstairs for things like this and since Becky loves the place, I figured it was perfect. Becky is due on November 20th and having a baby boy that she and her husband are going to name Bradley Andrew. Becky got so many nice things and had a great time visiting with people she doesn't get to see often enough. I was very happy with how it turned out and now I just can't wait to meet that sweet baby boy :)

Diapers filled with Hershey kisses for the guests to take home.

I attempted to make baby faces on the cupcakes, but that didn't work out too well, so this was my plan B and they turned out great!

Pumpkin carving idea

I had a pumpkin that I bought to have on the steps at work and today I had Lizzy at the office with me so I took her to get a pumpkin for her so that we could carve them. Her cousins showed up here so I ended up carving all of their pumpkins and my own and we found a cool site that you could make your own pumpkin stencils. It's fast and easy and the kids loved picking out their own designs.

Go here to get some cool ideas!

Happy Birthday Dailey!

Darling

Your loved

Yesterday was Dailey's birthday party and it couldn't have went any better. It was a pumpkin carving party and all of Dailey's friends got to come over and carve pumpkins and play. There were quite a few kids there and I think all of them had a blast playing together. I brought Campbell along with me and all she wanted to do was hold Skylee :)
I can't believe Dailey is already 2, she is such a sweet little girl and I love the time that I get to be around her.

Campbell with her carved pumpkin.

Grandpa Randy's gift was quite the hit!

Dailey's gift from Auntie. The perfect little table :)

The cute little treat bags that Becca made.

The tea party that Dailey set up for her and Dora.

Then Campbell joined in.

What Campbell loved to do most, hold baby Skylee ♥

A little scare

I have been trying to get up to see Cadence for the last few weeks but they have been sick, or have went to see Shae's family and I kept missing them. I was supposed to go up on Monday but Shae said that both she and Cadence were both sick so I decided to wait. Tuesday Shae texted me and said they were at the ER with Cadence because she had a high fever, was getting sick and having trouble breathing and their Dr. sent them. I was pretty worried about that little girl but Shae did a good job of keeping me informed on her status. They did a bunch of things to the poor little girl and they think it was a viral infection and possibly a bad sinus infection. Shae said that she was so lethargic and just laid there which is not like Cadence at all.

I just had to go up there last night and see for myself that she was doing better and she definitely was. You can tell she is still not her normal self but she looks a lot better. I can't believe how big she is getting! I say that every time, but she changes so much. Last time I thought her hair was getting darker and now it's getting really light. She is just a little sweetheart and I love holding her :)

Trying to get her to smile but I kept missing it.

She wanted some taco salad too :)

She was making some pretty funny faces :)

Chatting with each other.

The Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was the definition of a Fall day to me. The weather couldn't have been more perfect! Crystal clear blue skies, a little chill in the air and the sun shining on the beautiful orange, yellow and red trees. Just perfect. Cooper and I picked Campbell up from school and we headed to the Pumpkin Patch. We went to Remlinger Farms in Carnation and I had heard they had a bunch of activities for the little ones. We got there and discovered that was only on the weekends and the only pumpkins they had during the week, were the ones that were in their store to buy. That's not very fun, so we left there and went down the street to a real pumpkin patch. This one you actually got to cut the pumpkins right from the vine and the kids loved that, especially Cooper!

Cooper watched Sissy and patiently waited but kept saying "me, me, me".

Then it was his turn :)

From Cooper's view.

And then Campbell's view.

We had a great time and Cooper was so tired, he was asleep before we even left the parking lot :)

A blessing..

That's what Connie truly was, a blessing. Although I didn't know her as well as I would have liked, she made an impact on me and I will be forever thankful for that. The love and spirit that she showed to everyone she met, will never be forgotten. There was not a time that I saw Connie, that she didn't have a big smile on her face and that is something that everyone agreed on. The bond between her and her Sister is unlike anything I've ever heard or seen. Almost every single picture in her slide show, included her Sister Mindy.

At the service, it was quite evident just how many people she had touched. You just don't meet people like Connie often enough.

After the service, Karen and I got to have a nice dinner and reflect on Connie and life in general. As I drove home Saturday night, I thought about my own life and questioned many things. I am definitely a thinker, especially when I am driving, which is a lot. It's always the harsh reality of life that puts everything into perspective. It makes me realize how some things that are seemingly so important at times, really don't mean much in the big picture of life. At the end of the day, it's not about anything more than how you impacted other people and if I can make half the impact that Connie did, I will have done something right.

"There are some people, you know, who are too important to ever be forgotten."
Connie is definitely one of those people.

Shelby's Bridal Shower

I can't believe it's already here and gone! We had a great time yesterday celebrating the Bride to be and I think she had a great time too. We had a wonderful turn out and there was lots of laughing. It's hard to believe there is only 5 weeks until the wedding!

The entry way table.

Cake table.

Love bird magnets as part of the favor.

The food table.

Cotton candy laffy taffy, also part of the favor.

The darling wedding cakes that Carrie made for the favor.

A little sign of Halloween

Just wanted to share a few crafts I have made lately. The first is this sign. I painted it a dark brown (which I know it looks black in the pic) and then tried to distress it with a a copperish paint. The letters are rub ons and then I sprayed a clear coat over it. It looks so cute in my bathroom.

I also made that little pumpkin square with that same copper color and then I made that little mini canvas and stamped a bird on it.

Just a little bit of Halloween cheer!

Viva Las Vegas!!

In exactly 2 weeks from today, Rachel and I will be at the airport waiting to board a plane for Las Vegas and I can't wait!! Travis is preparing a car for our friend Eric Richardson, to race at the Bullring in LV. They are racing two weekends in a row, and we picked the 2nd one. We will fly in on Thursday, Halloween is Friday, the race is Saturday and we fly home Sunday afternoon. The perfect amount of time in Vegas.

We will be staying at the Monte Carlo. Now we just need to figure out our Halloween Costumes and we will be good to go!

Debate night

Well, tonight is the final debate before the election and I am excited to watch it. It will be interesting to see how they both approach this one since this will be the last big impression. I hope they stick more to the facts of what they stand for, rather than focusing on what the other candidate did or didn't vote on or do so far. It gets so old to hear the bickering back and forth "he voted for this and I didn't", etc.

Today is also Jay's birthday and even though he doesn't get on here, I still wanted to mention it. A year ago today, we were both getting ready for our first trip to North Carolina and we had the best time, both times we went. So Happy Birthday to Jay! The best friend anyone could ask for :)

Fall Classic Weekend.

What a crazy, fun weekend! Besides being freezing cold, the weather was decent and all the races were able to run. Travis did a great job and although the car had a rear end problem in Saturday nights race, they fixed it and he came back to finish 3rd on Sunday. Jay finished 4th which was so exciting and like a victory in itself with the season he has had. He was very happy and it was the perfect way to end the season!

Friday afternoon we were over at Becca's and the 3 boys and Dailey decided to dig up Becca's garden. They had fun digging carrots and onions out of the ground. It was pretty funny to watch with all their personalities.

Saturday morning we went with Becca, Justin and the girls to the Pumpkin Patch. Dailey was a bit grouchy on Saturday and didn't want her picture taken but she was still as cute as ever. It was a fun time with lots going on.

Another great weekend!

13 weeks..

That's how far along my sister Ashley is in her pregnancy and I am getting more excited by the day. I am so excited to be called Auntie and spoil my little niece or nephew :) I love everything about children and I can't wait until the little one arrives.

First ultrasound at 8 weeks.

Second one at 10 weeks.

And now at 12 weeks.

It is amazing to me how quickly they grow. In each one I see a significant difference.
I know it is not common to have this many ultrasounds at the beginning, but since my Sister was having some cramping, they wanted to make sure all was well, and it is. We should be finding out if we will be having a princess or a prince in about 5 weeks :)

I hope everyone has a Wonderful weekend enjoying this lovely Fall weather!

Invitations

Making the invitations is probably my favorite thing about throwing a party. It is the first impression of the event to come and I like to make the guests know that they are in for a treat.

I have made invitations for 2 events coming up this month and I think they both turned out really well.

The first are Shelby's Bridal Shower invitations. I saw an idea similar to this and knew that was what I wanted to do, here is how they turned out.

I also made invitations for my friend Becky's baby shower. I just wanted to keep it simple since that's how the shower will be.

Candles for Connie

I copied this from The Roebuck Family blog.

Our dear, dear friend Connie, who was an angel on earth, has left this life and is now flying freely. Her cancer riddled body could no longer hold her spirit. I light these cyber candles in remembrance. They will remain that way for her on my page and in my heart forever. I invite my friends and family to copy them and do the same.

May her endless numbers of friends and family find comfort in these difficult times.

Scrappin'

Scrap booking is something that I enjoy. I think it's because I LOVE taking pictures and I love documenting special memories and things that are important to me. I also love buying all the fun products like paper, stickers, ribbon, buttons, any thing that I can use to showcase my photos. I used to scrapbook frequently, at least a few times a week but over the past year I have definitely slacked. Now I have tons of pictures and I feel a bit overwhelmed. I figured the only way it was going to get done is if I started somewhere, so that's what I did last night. While watching the presidential debates, I spread all my stuff out and got to work. I got 2 pages done and then I finished another that I started a few weeks ago.

Campbell's 1st day of Kindergarten.

My brother Michael on his first day of 5th grade!

Jennifer will be happy to see this one as it has almost been a year since our trip, and well, no scrapbook has been made until now :)

Hopefully I can get back on track with this hobby that I truly do love. I certainly know I have a lot of catching up to do!
